Current Volunteer Needs
NEW! Donation Center Volunteer:
receive donations for the store, food shelf, and specialty programs. Back-up phone assistance, clerical work, and light lifting may be required.
Refrigeration Maintenance:
HFS is in need of a volunteer who has experience working with commercial refrigerators and freezers to perform monthly maintenance.
Clothes Closet & More Thrift Store:
Store volunteers greet and assist customers with purchases(use of cash register); Greet clients, give paperwork and direct to appropriate staff; assist with putting donations out in the store.
Just Friends Program:
Just Friends Program Needs: 1) drivers to take clients to and/or from medical, dental and social service appointments in and out of Hastings. Mileage reimbursed. 2) volunteers to visit clients in their homes; play cards, talk, go to lunch, run errands, hang out. 3) volunteers for yard work and winter shoveling for clients.
