What do Food Shelf volunteers do?

Greet clients and donors and notify staff of arrival.

·         weigh-in all incoming food and record the weight;

·         sort; Check expiration dates; shelf; and box food as needed;

·         maintain and rotate items on shelves and in freezer;

·         assist staff with packing food orders for clients;

·         maintain cleanliness in food shelf;

·         double bag grocery bags for food orders;

·         assist with unloading deliveries as needed.

Requirements

· 

•  ability to maintain client confidentiality
• have orientation and training with staff or lead volunteer
• be able to life up to 25 pounds
• be able to bend limbs and stay on your feet for up to 4 hours
