Just Friends provides many services to help people with needs that are outside their physical capabilities for a variety of reasons.  This Hastings Family Service program works with other community organizations, health care providers and congregations to reach out to our neighbors.  In 2009, 184 seniors and home bound individuals were served.

Services

Care Connection:   daily/weekly phone call support.

Friends:  mentoring, support, one-on one relationship building.

Transportation Services: rides to medical, dental, counseling, and social service appointments and other necessary outings.

Miscellaneous Services: tasks such as yard work, snow shoveling, shopping assistance, carpentry and repairs.

Referrals
Just Friends referrals come from many sources*:

• the individuals themselves
• family, friends, and neighbors
• congregations and clergy
• hospitals
• other agencies

* Any of these referral sources may request an initial assessment. A trained volunteer will then be connected with the person in need.

Just Friends services are free of charge.
