The Meals on Wheels program is operated by Hastings Family Service in partnership with Regina Medical Center and community volunteers.  Daily delivery of hot nutritious meals are provided to the elderly and people living with a disablilty.  Our volunteer drivers deliver 60 meals a day or 12,483 meals a year!

What do Meals on Wheels drivers do?

·         Pick up meals and route sheet at MOW office (located in Regina hospital) between 11:30-12:00pm

·         Use proper equipment for food storage provided by Meals on Wheels

·         Wear lanyards issued by MOW supervisor for identification as a Volunteer driver

·         Deliver meal to client or designated representative

·         Greet clients; report any concerns or clients needs to site supervisor or CALL 911 IN CASE OF EMERGENCY’S

·         Return empty coolers, route boards and lanyards to MOW wheels office

Requirements

·         Must have a valid MN driver license and auto insurance on vehicle used for deliveries

·         Completed criminal background check and orientation with volunteer coordinator, site supervisor, or lead volunteer

·         acknowledgment and receipt of Volunteer Handbook

·         If unable to drive as scheduled, notify the appropriate contact allowing as much time as possible to find a replacement
