Hastings Family Service distributed school supplies to 317 children from 158 families this fall of 2010. We assist families who are struggling and help them with this extra financial burden. It is important that every child in our district begins the school year with the necessary school supplies, the same as their peers. The collection of school supplies at the various locations was sponsored by the Hastings Chapter of the American Association of University Women. We would like to that them as well.

For school supplies the following requirements need to be met:
1. Live within the boundaries of
2. For parent or guardian: a photo ID and a piece of mail postmarked within two weeks of the day of the appointment.
3. For each school age child: proof of enrollment in District #200 such as
a recent piece of mail from the school
a recent report card

4. If custodial parent or guardian is not able to bring the child, the accompanying adult must have a permission letter from the parent or guardian.
